Altoona freezes Juniata, 8-1

MIFFLINTOWN — Altoona softball got a pair of home runs in an 8-1 win over Juniata on Friday.

For the Mountain Lions, Kaya Sprankle had three hits and one RBI. Natalie Baker, Lilly Snyder and Mary Worley each tallied one RBI. Graycie Price added two RBIs.

Charli Schneider and Price each belted a home run for Altoona (1-2).

Skyler Reed and Sprankle each posted three hits. Snyder and Price each recorded two hits.

On the mound, Schneider tossed seven innings for a complete-game win. She allowed four hits, one run, three walks and struck out four Indians.

For the Indians, Regan Lowrey scored the lone run. Victoria Moore had two hits. Lowrey and Destiny Yohn each tallied one hit.

The Lady Indians visit Susquenita on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Then, they head to Line Mountain on Wednesday.

BASEBALL

Blackhawks fly by Tigers, 19-0

COCOLAMUS — East Juniata baseball suffered its second loss of the season, 19-0, at the hands of Susquenita (3-1) on Friday.

EJ (1-2) visits Upper Dauphin on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Colts hand Huskies 4th loss

CAMP HILL — Mifflin County boys lacrosse lost, 14-6, to Cedar Cliff on Thursday.

Vann Rogers had two goals and one assist, Austin Mannino posted one goal with one assist. Kaden Miller had one goal with one assist. Nate Parkes collected one goal and one assist. Dodger Weaver had one goal.

Jamison Parkes recorded 11 saves for the Huskies (0-4).

Next, the Huskies host Mechanicsburg on April 3.
