Allan E. Gipe

Born Friday, June 25, 1943 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Emery and Dorothy Marker Gipe.

He was a 1961 graduate of Chief Logan High School in Burnham.

Allan retired from AT&T in 1990 as a Communications Technician. He was a member of the Hub City Club. He was a charter member of the Roxbury Horseshoe Pitching Club (HSPC) and a life member of the Lurgan Lion’s Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Robyn L. Cross, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Diana L. Lotter, Sykesville, Md.; two sons, Jeffrey A. Gipe, Harrisburg, and Matthew T. (Chanda) Gipe, Chambersburg; one brother, Brian (Heather) Gipe, Lewistown; two sisters, Susan (Gary) Aungst, and Cheryl (Thomas) Bearley, both of McVeytown; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters in-law, Carol Gipe, Bellville and Robin Gipe, Windsor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura A. Porter Gipe, who passed away Aug. 16, 2003; and two brothers, Dolan Gipe and Edward Gipe.
