Mary L. Kauffman

Born Dec. 28, 1941 in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Martha (Brenneman) McCartney Sr. Her husband, Samuel J. Kauffman Jr., whom she married Oct. 25, 1961, preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2018.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Wilbur McCartney Jr., Robert McCartney, Carl McCartney, Ron McCartney; and three grandchildren, Shannon Ruby, Roger Kennedy Jr., and Leslie Eckley.

Surviving are: five children, Ronald Ruby, of Huntingdon, Robyn Lantz, of Huntingdon, Carolyn Snook and husband, Dan, of Lewistown, Glenda Kauffman, of Lewistown, D. Jeannie McCartle and husband, Charles, of Lewistown; seven siblings, Donald McCartney, of Mt. Union, Jack McCartney and wife, Daphne, of Mt. Union, Nancy Knable, of Newton Hamilton, Connie Forshey and husband, Dean, of Shirleysburg,Helen Heffner, of Huntingdon, Daniel McCartney and wife, Susie, of Mill Creek, Susan Martin, of Mt. Union; 10 grandchildren and their families.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that enjoyed baking for her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown. Two of her granddaughters, Jerrica and Jessica, will be the speakers. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.

A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
