Derry Township man picked up on warrants
LEWISTOWN — Clifford Peffer Jr., 79, of Derry Township, was arrested for three warrants and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown after a traffic stop at 5:03 p.m. on Feb. 3, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Police stopped Peffer Jr. for driving a vehicle on South Dorcas Street without a license plate, the report said. Peffer was found to be highly intoxicated from consuming alcoholic beverages and transported to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital for a blood draw, the report said. Officers subsequently dropped Peffer off at his residence in Derry Township but later received information that Peffer had three warrants with commitment orders, police said. Officers returned to Peffer’s residence and placed him in custody, police said. Peffer was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility and charged with an alleged DUI, driving under suspension, and other offenses are pending toxicology reports, police said.
