Lewistown man arrested and processed for DUI
LEWISTOWN — Robert R. Reeseman Jr., 47, of Lewistown was arrested on Jan. 18 under the suspicion of driving under the influence. At approximately 11 p.m., Mifflin County Regional Police Officers on patrol in the Lewistown Heights area of Derry Township conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Ford Fusion for a traffic violation. It was revealed Reeseman was the operator and upon further investigation, it was suspected he was under the influence of marijuana. Reeseman was taken into custody and processed for DUI. Charges pending toxicology results.
Port Royal man faces DUI charges
LEWISTOWN — On Jan. 19, Mifflin County Regional Police Officers were patrolling Ferguson Valley Road when they conducted a traffic stop. At approximately 1 a.m., a 2008 Nissan X-Terra was seen committing a traffic violation near the Nolan Drive intersection. Officers were able to identify the operator as 52 year old Matthew S. Hackenberry of Port Royal. While further investigating, it was revealed that Hackenberry had been drinking. Hackenberry was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital for a chemical test of his blood. Charges pending toxicology results.
Reedsville man charged with felony criminal trespass
LEWISTOWN — At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Jan.19, Mifflin County Regional Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street in Yeagertown, Derry Township, for an act of trespassing. Responding Officers learned that Nathan W. North, 43, of Reedsville had entered an occupied residence with the intent to remove his seven year old daughter. North was forced out of the residence by its occupants and fled the area. Regional Officers searched the area and located North on East Freedom Avenue in Burnham and took him into custody. North was transported to the Mifflin County Prison and lodged in the prison on a parole detainer. Charges of felony Criminal Trespass will be filed against North. There is an ongoing investigation as it is suspected North is also responsible for a stolen vehicle from this same residence.
Lewistown man charged with DUI
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County Regional Police Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on US HWY 522 North near the Somar Drive intersection at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Jan. 22. It was reported that one vehicle struck a utility pole at that location. Upon arrival, responding Officers identified the involved vehicle as a 2013 Kia Sportage operated by 28-year-old Dakota L. Kilmer of Lewistown. Upon further investigation, indications of Kilmer’s intoxication were revealed. Subsequently, a drug recognition expert was brought in from Lewistown Borough Police who was able to confirm that Kilmer was likely under the influence of a central nervous system depressant. Kilmer was offered a chemical test of his blood to which he refused. DUI and related charges were filed against Kilmer through the office of MDJ Jackie Leister.
Yeagertown man arraigned on several charges
LEWISTOWN — Joshua A. Fryer, 43, of Yeagertown has been arraigned before MDJ Kent Smith on charges of Strangulation and Simple Assault. On Jan. 25 at approximately 8:25 p.m., Mifflin County Regional Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on North Derry Avenue in Yeagertown for a reported assault. Further investigation revealed that Fryer engaged two subjects in a physical altercation at this residence. According to witnesses, Fryer struck one subject in the head. When confronted by another subject, he grabbed that individual by the throat, dragged them to a door and “smashed” their head off said door before fleeing the area, according to reports. Officers made contact with Fryer later in the evening and he turned himself in to police.
