Lucy Jane (North) Hackenberg, 84, of Duncansville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025.

She was born on March 31, 1940 in Lewistown, to the late James W. North, Sr. and Elizabeth Jane (Shannon) North. On Sept. 10, 1960, she married Charles Ray Hackenberg, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2021.

She is survived by children: Thomas Ray Hackenberg and wife, Christine, of Richmond, Va., Jeffrey Alan Hackenberg and wife, Andrea, of Bellefonte, and Debra Jane Speece and husband, Ryan, of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Katelyn Ziolkowski (Paul), Brittany Mantiply (Matt), Alexandra Wagner (Matt), Madison Mullins (Jeremy Roscher), Cassidy Hackenberg, Joshua Hackenberg, Samantha Hackenberg, Hayden Speece, and Joseph Speece; 10 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Oliver, Nora, Bennett, Lexi, Lila, Clara, Willow, Theodora and Rory; and a brother, James W. North and wife, Lucinda, of Milroy. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Kishacoquillas High School. She then obtained an associate degree from Susquehanna University. She was primarily a homemaker and a caregiver for other families.

Lucy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed music, going to concerts, bowling, traveling and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her quick wit and sarcasm will be missed by her family.

A viewing will be held for family and friends on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville, PA. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Church Hill Cemetery with Pastor Rick Bender officiating.
