Master Gardeners of Juniata Valley host fall bulb sale

MIFFLINTOWN — The Master Gardeners of Juniata Valley will hold their first annual fall bulb sale in Juniata County and host a fall workshop for adults on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the lower level of the Juniata County Library. Activities for children, such as decorating and painting small pumpkins and gourds, will also be available. There will be something for everyone.

A small selection of native trees and New England Asters will be available for sale along with a large variety of Dutch tulip and daffodil bulbs. There will also be a select collection of deer proof bulbs that will include alliums and grape hyacinth. Lightly used gardening tools, gardening books and pots will also be available for sale. Several Master Gardeners will also be available to answer gardening questions.

The Fall Workshop will be held from 11 a.m. to noon in the lower level of the library. The topics to be presented include “How to Plant Your Bulbs” and “Winterizing Your Garden.” Cost to attend is $5. Walk-in registration will be accepted at the door.
