Art and Craft Fest on Nov. 1 benefits area seniors, centers

LEWISTOWN — Like elves getting ready for the holidays, the members of the Lewistown Senior Center have been busy preparing for the upcoming Art and Craft Fest.

“The members are really excited for this event, they have been very busy preparing crafts and other items to sell at the event,” said Beth Harlan, senior community services supervisor at the Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services Corp. – The Care Network.

The Craft Fest, to be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, serves as a fundraiser for all Mifflin and Juniata county senior centers and Centers in Motion facilities. The Lewistown Senior Center is located at 515 Knepp Ave. in the former Central Novelty building.

“Each senior center will have a stand selling items that are made by the members, along with art projects on display done by the members,” Harlan added.

In addition to the arts and crafts on display and for purchase, there will be other craft vendors at the event, food trucks and a basket raffle.
