Apple Festival returns next week

REEDSVILLE — The leaves are starting to change and the weather is cooling off. For residents of Reedsville this means one thing:

The first fall events of the season and a one-of-a-kind event in Mifflin County, the 8th annual Apple Festival hosted by Reedsville Community Association. The event is held at Bender Park and is slated for Saturday, Sept. 21.

This year’s Apple Festival begins at 9 a.m to 3 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase apple cider, homemade apple butter, as well as lots of other apple foods, organizers say.

Curbside Kitchen, along with Midlife Crisis and many returning food vendors will be on site.

Pony rides will be available all day and the crowning of Little Miss and Mr. will take place at 11 a.m.

What is an Apple Festival without a pie baking contest? Contenders can hand in their apple pies between 10 and 11 a.m.

They are expecting at least 20 different vendors of all varieties from artisans to crafts, pet accessories, candles and more.

Browse vendors both apple related and non apple related while listening to live entertainment from Hayden Snook, along with Doug Riden and friends.

Parking is available in the municipal lot next to Bender Park and on side streets.

The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology and the Mifflin County Drama Club will also have children’s activities.
