McClure woman, child transported to hospital after one-vehicle crash

BEAVER SPRINGS — A McClure woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident near Route 522 and Snyder Avenue in West Beaver Township when she became distracted and lost control of her vehicle, according to a Public Information Release Report issued by Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove on Friday. At 10:05 a.m. on July 28, Nichole E. Ranck, 30, was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta when she dropped her cell phone on the floorboard of the vehicle, the report said. Due to this distraction, police said Ranck suddenly and unsafely went off the roadway, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. She came to a final resting position, facing north, police said, and was transported to Evangelical Community Hospital by William Cameron Engine Co. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time, police said. Additionally, there were four passengers in the vehicle, all from McClure, police said. a 6-year-old unidentified male in the vehicle, who was in a child safety seat, was also transported to the hospital, police said. The three others – 1- and 3-year-old unidentified females and an 8-year-old unidentified male – were all in seat belts or safety seats were not injured, police said.

BEAVER SPRINGS — Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating the report of a bad check at DRC Race Products, of Beaver Springs, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The incident took place at 3:42 p.m. on July 30, police said. The investigation continues.

Port Royal woman injured in two-vehicle crash, transported to hospital

MIFFLINTOWN — A Port Royal woman was transported to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital after being injured during a two-vehicle accident on Route 522 West in Walker Township at 5:44 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a Public Information Release Report issued by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown on Thursday. Bobbie L. Bryner, 44, was traveling in the right lane in a 2009 Nissan Cube and was slowing for traffic from a previous crash when she was rear-ended by a 2008 Saturn Vue, driven by Trever D. Armstrong, 29, of Lewistown, police said. The impact caused Bryner’s vehicle to roll over and catch fire, the report said. Armstrong’s vehicle continued before it finally stopped to rest off the left side of the roadway, police said. Bryner, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital by Thompsontown Ambulance League, police said. The severity of her injuries was unknown, the report said. Armstrong, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, police said.
