WASHINGTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has designated three Pennsylvania counties as contiguous natural disaster areas due to severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides.

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Impacted Area: West Virginia

Triggering Disaster: April 11 to April 12, 2024

Application Deadline: March 3, 2025

Primary Counties Eligible: Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Roane, Wetzel, Wood.

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Pennsylvania: Beaver, Green, Washington.

Ohio: Athens, Belmont, Columbiana, Jefferson, Meigs, Monroe, Washington.

West Virginia: Boone, Brooke, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Fayette, Harrison, Jackson, Lincoln, Marion, Monongalia, Nicholas, Pleasants, Putnam, Raleigh, Ritchie, Tyler, Wirt.
