Richard L. "Leon" Rebert, 74, of McClure, died at 12:24 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1939, in Westminster, Maryland, he was the son of the late Norman O. and Almena (Rakes) Rebert.
Leon is survived by: his wife, Shirley (Grassmyer) Rebert, whom he married in 1990; his sons, Jeffrey Scott Grassmyer, of Burnside, Minnesota, and Rick Len Rebert, of Westminster, Maryland; grandchildren, Alyssa Grassmyer and Alexandra Grassmyer; siblings, Norman Rebert Jr. and wife, Angie, of Belle Mead, New Jersey, Douglas Rebert and wife, Laurie, of Lancaster, Carol Anne Whitenden and husband, Bill, of Manchester, Maryland, and Francis McGee and husband, Robert, of Manchester, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was employed as manager of Thunderhead Bowling Lanes Center.
He drove for Jano Enterprises for a number of years. He was a Christian by faith and enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends. Later in life, he loved going for rides with Janelle.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Vicki L. Elmer officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the funeral home.
