LEWISTOWN - A 42-year-old man from Granville Township who was previously arrested for violating a protection from abuse order, was arrested early Friday morning by police on multiple charges including resisting arrest after a domestic disturbance incident on Chestnut Street Extended, according to a report from Lewistown Police Department.
Police said at 12:30 a.m. Friday, a domestic dispute between a woman and her former boyfriend, William Chatmon, 42, of Granville Township. Police said the woman requested that Chatmon leave the residence and he complied.
According to the report, at 1:30 a.m., police were again called to the apartment, because it was reported that Chatmon had returned and shoved the woman into a wall. Police said they attempted to arrest Chatmon but he fled the scene. According to the report, Chatmon resisted his arrest before a Taser was used to subdue him. Police said during a search of Chatmon, drugs and drug paraphernalia was recovered.
According to the report, Chatmon was charged with simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest, unlawful drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Chatmon was arraigned and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
