Margaret Ellen "Peg" Stanley, 89, of Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, 2014, at UPMC, Altoona, after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Herschal B. and Pauline J. (Yoder) Hansen. She married George E. Stanley Jr. on July 2, 1971, in Stroudsburg.
Surviving are: her husband; her daughter, Margaret A. Warden, of Arizona; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James P. Hansen.
Peg graduated from Woodstown High School in New Jersey. She retired from Burroughs Corporation (Unisys) in 1986, after 18 years as a project coordinator.
She was a member of the Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church and the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark R. Brown officiating. Committal will be held at approximately noon Friday, at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
