Fae Catherine McKnight

Fae Catherine McKnight, 81, of McClure, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:28 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.

Born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Bannerville, she was a daughter of the late Jacob H. and Jenny (Baker) Romig.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, John H. McKnight on Dec. 10, 1997; her son, Thomas L. McKnight; and her siblings, Edna Richards, Charles Romig, Beatrice Romig and George Romig.

Fae is survived by: her siblings, Irene Goss, of Shinglehouse, and Paul H. Romig Sr. and wife, Marsha, of McClure; a sister-in-law, Ellen Romig; children, John D. McKnight and wife, Barbara, and Timothy L. McKnight and wife, Kim, both of McClure, Arlene K. Treaster and husband, Robert J., of Milroy, Doris J. McKnight, of McClure, Cindy L. Roth and husband, Dean, of St. Mary's, and Jacob D. McKnight and wife, Carol, of McClure; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchild- ren; one great-great-grand- son.

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1949.

Earlier in life, she worked as a seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Factory, Davis, Kirby's and Saylor Manufacturing businesses.

She was a member of Baker's United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years.

Fae was a secretary of the ladies auxiliary Decatur Fire Co., treasurer of McClure's Women's Club, and she enjoyed doing volunteer work for many different organizations and helping others. She also enjoyed quilting, baking and sewing. Her pride and joy was her family and spending time with them.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Baker's United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Jacobs officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

A viewing will also be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

Interment will take place in Baker's E.U.B. Cemetery, Beavertown.

Memorial donations in Fae's name may be made to Baker's United Methodist Church, Ulsh Gap Road, McClure, PA 17841 or to Decatur Fire Co., Ladies Auxiliary, 4277 U.S. Highway 522 N., Lewistown, PA 17044.
