Madeline J. Kramer, 86, of Mifflintown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 23, 1928 in Turbett Township, Juniata Co., she was a daughter of the late Holmes L. and Ottillia (McCahren) Hosler. Her husband, Harry J. "Crash" Kramer, died on Feb. 21, 2000.
She is survived by: five children, Connie "Sis" Smith and husband, Donald "Smitty", Donna J. Forry, and John L. Kramer and wife, Peggy S., all of Port Royal, James E. Kramer and wife, Cynthia, and Sharon K. Ock and husband, Richard, all of Mifflintown; her companion, Richard D. Swan, of Huntingdon; two brothers, Herbert Hosler, of Fort Loudon and Clair Hosler, of Mifflintown; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son-in-law, David Forry; four brothers, Donald, Eugene, Cloyd and Ken Hosler; and two sisters, Virginia Burd and Gladys Armstrong.
Madeline worked at several places, but mainly helped her husband with his business, Kramer's Construction.
She collected porcelain dolls and enjoyed taking care of her flowers and traveling. She loved her dogs, but the most important thing was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor John Foltz officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Monday at the funeral home.
