Ida C. Nale Kipp, 95, of Lewistown, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at her home.
Born April 18, 1919, in Hastings, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Esther (Johnson) Sward.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen H. Nale, on Aug. 24, 1968; her brothers, Edward, Norman and Robert Sward; a sister, Pearl Sward; and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Baker-Livings- ton and McKenley Walters.
Ida is survived by: her husband, Paul Kipp; her children, Carolyn Baker and husband, Ray, of Mifflintown, Sharon Rhodes Weaver, of Lewistown, Gayle Updegrove and husband, Lynn, of Jonesboro, Ga., and Glenna Young and husband, Tom, of Belleville; a stepson, Wesley Kipp, of Harrisburg; her sister, Peggy Hudson and husband, Ray, of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She attended the Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church for many years and was a Sunday school Teacher. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Ida was a wonderful seamstress who made beautiful dresses. She loved baking her entire life, crossword puzzles, going to the beach, the Philadelphia Phillies, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and travelling.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Mifflintown, 23964 state Route 35N, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Ronald Shupe officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Heller- Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham.
