LEWISTOWN - Charles R. "Charlie" Decker, 59, of Lewistown, entered eternity at noon Friday, June 27, 2014, at his home.
Born on July 7, 1954, in Lewistown he was a son of the late Floyd J. Jr. and Anna M. (Pierce) Decker.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Scott Allen Decker and Walter George Decker.
Charlie is survived by: sons, Charles Scott Decker and wife, Melissa, of Huntingdon, and Jon Paul Decker and wife, Kelly, of Thompsontown; five grandchildren, Alex, Wyatt, Ben, Camdyn and Zoey; siblings, Larry Decker and companion, Marge, of Kulpmont, Brenda Hartsock and husband, Jerry, and Steve Decker and wife, Jen, both of Burnham, Jeff Decker and companion, Bev, of Belleville, Kay Wagner and husband, Doug, of Yeagertown, and Crystal Varner and companion, Doug, of Lewistown; and his faithful companion his dog, Rider.
He attended West Snyder High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Charlie was a self-employed truck driver and had driven more than 6 million miles on the road.
He had been saved and baptized at Bible Baptist Church.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Charlie loved hunting, fishing, racing, woodworking, riding motorcycles and was an avid fox collector. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed helping anyone in any way he could.
A memorial service, with VFW Post 7011 honors, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Scott Decker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
