BELLEVILLE - Eva J. Peachey, 90, of the Valley View Haven, Belleville, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the Haven.
She was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Allensville, a daughter to the late Samuel M. and Rachel T. (Peachey) Yoder. Her husband, Richard L. Peachey, whom she married on Aug. 24, 1957, preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1998.
She is survived by: children, Kathy C. Devore and husband, Donald, of Belleville, and Becky J. Peachey, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren, Bronwyn Lane, Blair Lane, Jahayden West and Oren Devore; a sister, Clara Mae Williams, of Mifflintown; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Yoder, of Belleville.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel Yoder, Glenn Yoder and Louis Yoder, and a sister, Kate Yoder.
Eva was employed for the John and Rebecca (Reed) Rodgers family at Plum Bottom Farm for 40 years.
She was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, the Willing Workers Union Sunday school class and the Caring Group at the church.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching her nephews and great-nephews play baseball and basketball. She was their No. 1 fan.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastors Alan Kauffman and Herb Zook officiating. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
