MILROY - The Armagh Township Supervisors appointed Ryan Wagner as an auditor for the township, during a brief regular meeting Monday afternoon.
The township office received two applications, one each from Michelle Fisher and Ryan Wagner, only one of which contained a resume. Chairman Glen Boyer read the qualifications for both candidates, which included reading the resume of Fisher and the letter of interest from Wagner.
Boyer welcomed recommendations from the other supervisors, and Gregg Bitner nominated Fisher based on her extensive resume and experience. Bitner's motion did not come to a vote because neither Boyer nor Vice Chairman Michael Reed seconded the motion. Reed then motioned to hire Wagner based on his experience with the vo-tech school. Wagner was hired by a 2-1 vote, with Bitner voting in opposition.
Several residents in attendance at the meeting expressed displeasure with the vote, stating they believe for the person to be hired, a resume must be presented to the township.
The Armagh Township Board of Supervisors regularly meets at 3:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month at the township office located at 224 College Ave. in Milroy.
