CONCORDVILLE - Norman W. Wray Sr., 91, died June 10, 2014. Norman was a longtime resident of Concordville.

Norman received a Bachelor of Science in science with a minor in math from Temple University. He went on to earn his masters in education and administration from Temple University and his masters in science education from the University of Pennsylvania.

He retired from Prospect Park/Interboro High School and taught at The Christian Academy, Penn State-Brandywine and Delaware County Community College. During his summers, he was employed as a chemist with Sun Oil.

Norman became a member of Stonybank Community Church of Glen Mills in 1956 and served as Elder and Elder Emeritus. He was actively involved in many mission programs at his church.

Norman loved hunting, fixing and building most anything, spending time with family and friends, especially at his family picnics in the backyard where he made his famous homemade ice cream.

He was predeceased by his wife: Margaret H. (nee Duerr) Wray; daughter, Margaret C. Wray; and a brother, Leroy Wray.

He is survived by: his children, Norman Jr. (Joan), Daniel (Leslie) and David (Gail); grandchildren, Norman III (Virginia), Kenneth (Jennifer), Elizabeth, Stephen, David Jr, Patricia Steinmetz (Daniel) and Andrew McIntyre; and great-grandchildren, Veronica, Valerie, Sophia and Maria.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Ashton. Burial will take place in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the funeral home.
