MIFFLIN - William R. Raup, 85, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village.
Born on Feb. 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Samuel C. and Kathryn Raup, of Sunbury.
He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Raup, of Lewistown; children, Kristin Raup, of Pittsburgh, and Jeffrey Raup, of Washington D.C.; sisters-in-law, Edith M. Raup, of Elizabethtown, and Marilyn H. Karpinski, of Pittsburgh; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel S. Raup, of Elizabethtown.
He was a 1947 graduate of Sunbury High School and 1951 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg.
He was an Eagle Scout and, after college, worked as a Boy Scout Executive in various locations including the Juniata Valley Council.
After the Boy Scouts, he and his wife owned and operated the Awards Centre in State College and Recognition Engraving in Lewistown.
He was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Lewistown. He attended First United Methodist Church in Lewistown.
There will be no immediate public memorial service.
