How does it work?

May 12, 2014

Hannah Harvey, a fourth grade student at Lewistown Intermediate School, stands with her project Saturday during the first Mifflin County Science and Technology Fair. Harvey made rock candy by boiling two cups of water and four cups of sugar. She let the mixture cool and added a stick to which the crystals adhered. Harvey said it takes seven days for crystals to grow. The theme of the fair was, “How Things Work,” and open enrollment was offered to youth in grades four through nine. Winners were awarded cash prizes.
