LEWISTOWN - Donald B. Mort, 77, of Lewistown, died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at his home.
Born on Feb. 24, 1937, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late William J. and Dora A. (Vaughn) Mort.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Beaver, in 2006.
Donald is survived by: His wife, Frances E. (Koch) Mort, whom he married on Oct. 27, 1961; his children, Kathy Wilfong, of Akron, Douglas Koch, Daniel Mort and wife, Donna, both of Lewistown, and David Mort and wife, Mihae, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, whom they raised, Kelsey Barth; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Mort and wife, Peggy, of Lewistown.
He had been a fork truck driver working at Masland-Lear, retiring in 1998.
Donald was a protestant by faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a Pirate and Steeler fan and enjoyed woodworking.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor Clair Diven officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
