LEWISTOWN - Fred A. Goss, 86, formerly of McClure, died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Ohesson Manor.
Born on April 8, 1928, in Spring Township, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Hurley A. and Mabel (Knepp) Goss.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. (Goss) Goss, whom he married on Oct. 11, 1946, and three brothers.
Fred is survived by: son, Lon A. Goss and wife, Peggy, of Lewistown, and daughter, Sandra S. Klingler and husband, Robert, of McClure; five grandchildren, Dalonnie Sherlock and Douglas, Robyn Smith and Andrew, Robert Klingler Jr. and Janell, Eric Klingler and fiancee, Maria, and Drew Klingler and Cyndi; nine great-grandchildren, Daniesha, Nichole, Jordan, Taylor, Casey, Zachary, Kassidy, Dylan and Jacob; one great-great grandson, Oakley; brother, Archie Goss and, Fay, of McClure; and a sister, Nancy Fetterolf and, Ronald, of Elkton, Md.
Early in life, he was a farmer. He worked at the American Viscose Corp. and then retired from Standard Steel.
He was a member of First Church of the Brethren in Lewistown.
Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and his family meant the world to him.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and the Green Ridge Hunting Club.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Samuel's Cemetery in McClure, with the Rev. Douglas Sherlock officiating.
Memorial donations in Fred's name may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 134 Shaw Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.
