MIFFLIN - Sadie M. Watson, 96, formerly of Lewistown, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on Nov. 29, 1917, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Sadie L. (Sakers) Weyman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Kenneth Watson, in 1980; a son, David H. Watson, in 2003; three brothers; and two sisters.
Sadie is survived by: son, Joseph K. Watson and wife, Wanda, of Lewistown; daughter- in-law, Bonnie Watson; three grandchildren, Angela and Kari Watson, of Harrisburg, and Christopher Watson, of Lewistown; one stepgrandchild, Tammy Hynicker, of Ephrata; two stepgreat- grandchildren, Heather and Aaron Folk; and one stepgreat-great-grand- child, Rayna Folk.
She was a 1938 graduate of Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing.
Earlier in life, she worked as a registered nurse at Lewistown Hospital, retiring in 1983 after 25 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
Sadie belonged to the Lewistown Chapter No. 283 Order of Eastern Star.
She enjoyed traveling, reading and playing cards.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sadie's name may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA, 17044.
