Steve Burk, right, and Ma Tracey carry a cross down East Third Street during the annual Stations of the Cross walk Friday afternoon in Lewistown. The Good Friday Stations of the Cross walk started at 11 a.m. inside Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with local pastors reading the stations followed by the walk at noon. A large cross is carried through the downtown area, in imitation of Jesus Christ’s walk to Calvary. The crowd stops at nine pre-designated ‘stations’ including the courthouse, the prison, the police station, and various charitable offices, with area pastors offering prayers out loud corresponding to the work done inside the building in front of which the group pauses.
