Crash - 12:53 p.m. - April 12 - Police said Scotty Swartz, 42, of Richfield, was driving west in the center of Earnes Road, near White Lane in Monroe Township, in a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutless, when another vehicle came toward him in the opposite direction. According to a report, Deron Brubaker, 42, of Richfield, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe and attempted to go as far off the road to avoid a collision, but was unable to because of an embankment. Police said this caused the two to hit on the front driver's side of each vehicle. After the impact, Swartz's vehicle slid out of control and stopped on the downward slope of the embankment, police said. According to the report, Brubaker's vehicle flipped onto its passenger's side and came to a stop on the top of the embankment on the opposite side of the road. Police said both Swartz and Brubaker were taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Crash - 8:35 p.m. - April 13 - Police said Randy Miller, 35, of Mifflintown, swerved in an unsuccessful attempt to miss a deer. According to a report, after hitting the deer Miller, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala, hit an embankment and the car rolled onto its roof before coming to a stop on the northern side of Long Road in Fermanagh Township.
