To the editor:
While reading the Opinon page in The Sentinel on Saturday, April 12, I noticed the letter from Don Wright. Unfortunately, Mr. Wright has some of his so-called facts incorrect. The president has a tough enough job as it is without asinine comments such as Mr. Wright's concerning what Obama's religion is.
Fact number one: Obama is Christian and has stated so on many occasions. I always thought that the main reason that people got married - and it does not matter whether they are gay or not - is because they loved each other. Also, please tell me where in the Bible is the word 'homosexual.' I have never seen it in the Bible. Also, according to the Bible, God forgives all sin. Many people consider a gay person as sinful. Then doesn't God forgive that sin, or is it just for people who are hetero?
Fact number two: How did Obama destroy "the world's best performing health industry," especially when you look at the United Nations World Health Organization rankings? Facts concerning this subject: The U.S. health care system is ranked number 37, whereas the French health care system is ranked number 1. The funny thing is that France has a socialized health care system. So again, please tell me how he destroyed the health care system. The facts concerning health care rankings can easily be found on the Internet.
Considering that Mr. Wright even states in his letter that he watches Fox News, this must be where he gets his so-called facts and we all know that Fox News is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. Mr. Wright, I challenge you to watch a non-biased news network in the future.
Also, I have to tell Mr. Wright that all living beings have the right to live - that includes the "desert tortoise" that obviously Mr. Wright wants to see become extinct. I suggest that Mr. Wright look up the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934 when it comes to cattle grazing, which basically states that the government can say where cattle are allowed to graze, especially when it comes to public land.
