MIFFLINTOWN - B. Donald Kauffman, 84, of Licking Creek Valley, Mifflintown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born July 10, 1929 in the homestead where he still resided, making him a life-long "cricker."
He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Beulah M. (Crozier) Kauffman, whom he married June 26, 1948; four children, Sonya Kauffman Cramer and husband, Alan, of Lititz, Randy Kauffman and wife, Cate, of Mifflintown, Kevin Kauffman and wife, Amy, of Warwick, N.Y., and Kurt Kauffman and wife, Sherri, of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Richard Kauffman, of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Esther Cramer, of Mifflintown; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Nancy L. Kauffman on Jan. 13, 1996; his parents, David K. and Florence (Bossinger) Kauffman, five sisters and two brothers.
Don graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1946. He worked as a millwright for more than forty years and also was a farmer.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Milford Grange, Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Perry-Juniata Shrine Club, and had been active with the Boy Scout Troop 124 Committee for more than 50 years.
He enjoyed hunting and traveling and especially spending time with his family.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 8489 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, and on Monday at the church one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen?s Lutheran Church Building Fund, in care of Jane Wagner, treas., 178 Zook Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
