Jess has been anticipating a celestial reunion.

After Jess completed his service as a CO in CPS during WWII Jess and Ruth settled in Lititz, where he worked for Brubaker's Farm Equipment. Then after 25 years of services with Snap-on Tools Corproation, Jess retired from his career in sales and sales management.

He was an active lifetime member of the "Brethren-In-Christ" church. He was also an involved member of "Gideon's International" committed to distributing bibles worldwide.

After retirement Jess and Ruth served as volunteers for "Choice Books" and then spent 10 years as mobile "full-timers" living and traveling in their travel trailer from Alaska to Florida. Then they settled into a cottage at Messiah Village where Jess was active as a driver and handyman. They enjoyed the fellowship there including the many games of "Rummikub" that he organized. They enjoyed this home together for another 17 years.

Jess was a truly good man, a good father and husband. He will be missed.

A memorial service will be planned for April 12, 2014, in the chapel at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. Visitation with the family will begin at 2 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 3 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to the Matinchek and Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, Middletown.

Condolences may be sent online at www.matinchekanddaughterfuneralhome.com.
