To the editor:
Thanks to everyone who annually supports the Mifflin Juniata Special Needs Center Inc. Lip Sync' contest. This was the 27th year of the show and it was held at the Mifflin County High School on March 1.
The event raised approximately $6,000 for the center. More importantly, the community attendance reaffirmed that people from our community support us in the work that we do. Thank you so much for celebrating the evening with us.
The event was kindly made possible by the support of the following: Mifflin County School Board, administration and maintenance staff for the use and care of the facilities; the MCHS sound, lighting and stage crew led by Roger Herto and Matt Moore; the MCHS Media students; our judges, Frank Jost-The Sentinel, Tom "Tubby" Lawler-WKVA Radio, Marie Mulvihill-United Way of Mifflin-Juniata, Carol Smith-Juniata Sentinel, Kevin Kodish-Mifflin County Commissioner; tally master, Aaron Kalis from Huber & Associates; special performers Erik Oden, Tina Riden, Chris Ruble, Bailey Zendt; and Day Program Participants assisted by Joan Lowen; and emcees Tina Riden-Comcast and Mel Thomas-WJUN-FM Radio.
Of course the show wouldn't be possible without the contestants. We applaud these contestants listed in the order of their performance: Morgan Kaniecki and Emma Walters; Elizabeth, Isaac and Korey Emel and Melanie Smith; Levi Gilbert, Austin Large, Evan, Gage and Reese Moore; Kierstyn and Zach Fogle, Alyssa and Trent Robinson; Karsyn Hannon, Zoey Johnson, Caitlyn Kick and Maddie Sweeney; Celina Bowersox and Allisyn Emel; Elijah Himes, Audrey Jordan, Kenzie and Maddie McCarter and Trent Shade; Dennis, Julie, Olivia and Zack McClellan; Bobby and Olivia Fisher, Annie McKarchey and Sara Lyter; Ashley Drabinski, Emillee Geedy, Damon, Lance and Lorraine Peachey and Adam Runk.
We also appreciate the local media for promoting and covering our show and the many patrons, friends and sponsors who made financial contributions. These folks are too numerous to name.
Special thanks to Tim Knepp, who collected the most patron ads this year, West End Service Store for covering printing cost of tickets, Central PA Dock and Door LLC who covered our program printing costs and Aktion Club who helped with ushering.
We appreciate all of these friends.
