BELLEVILLE - E. Thomas Middleswarth, 90, of Hartzler Drive, Belleville, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, Feb, 17, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 14, 1923, in Reedsville, Tom was the son of the late Parke and Lylian Middleswarth, and brother of the late Parke Middleswarth Jr.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; children, Victoria, Anne, David and wife, Linda, and Susan and husband, Andrew; and three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Parke and Emily.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Tom received a master's degree in glass technology.
In his career in the glass development and semi-conductor industry, he earned several patents.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
An active church member throughout his life, Tom was a treasurer, elder, Sunday school superintendent, stewardship leader and devoted choir member. He loved all kinds of music, college football, word puzzles and travel.
A memorial service is scheduled for noon Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Tom's name to the Memorial Fund of the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville, PA 17084 or the charity Smile Train, www.smiletrain.org.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
