LEWISTOWN - Louise M. Mayhue, 88, formerly of Burnham, died at 6:42 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter- William Penn Nursing Home.
Born July 10, 1925, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late James O. and Ethel (Galloway) Smith.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, William H. Mayhue on June 1, 2013; a daughter, Sharon Elliott; a son, Stephen J. Mayhue; and a brother, Harold Smith.
Louise is survived by: four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and half siblings, Roxie Wagner and husband, Ronald, and Rodger Smith.
She was a 1943 graduate of Yeagertown High School. Earlier in life, she was employed at Cluett Peabody and Fisher Electronics.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Louise was known for being a caring and loving woman to both family and friends; she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Scott Hartsock officiating.
