LEWISTOWN - Richard Eugene Colyer, 54, of West Fourth Street, Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his residence.
Born on March 24, 1959, in Knousetown, he was the son of the late Albert F. Colyer Sr. and Ida L. Feltman, who currently lives in McAlisterville. He married Betty Ettinger of Lewistown, on Sept. 18, 2013, who survives.
He is also survived by: his son, John Russell Trego and his companion, Shannon Barger, of South Main Street, Lewistown; stepsons, John McTavish and Scott McTavish; brothers, Albert F. Colyer Jr. and wife, Debra, of Milroy, Terry L. Colyer and wife, Linda, of Oakland Mills, and David W. Colyer, of East Salem; sisters, Leora (Jeannie) Leach and husband, Steve, of Mifflintown, and Cindy Yorks and husband, Donald (Buzz), of Mount Pleasant Mills; four granddaughters, Lynkala, Amanda, Ariana and Ceira, all of Lewistown; five stepgrandsons; and one stepgrandaughter.
He also had many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Along with his father, he was preceded into Heaven by a sister in infancy, Debbie Lynn Colyer.
He went to school at Greenwood High School in Millerstown. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as a truck driver, and also did cable television installation as well as chicken farming.
He was a member of Grace Covenant Church, Washington Avenue, Lewistown, where he was involved with the Hand of Grace Ministry.
His memorial service will be held by his brother Albert F. Colyer Jr. at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Church of Christ, 301 S. Pine St., Lewistown. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
