LEWISTOWN - George E. Kling Jr., 90, of Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, died Sunday Feb. 2, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter - William Penn.
He was the son of the late George E. and Ida Pauline (Earnest) Kling Sr., and his stepfather, the late Arthur Kling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Gilchrist Kling.
Surviving are: two daughters, Brenda Collins and husband, William, and Connie Christine Proud and husband, Matt, both of Lewistown; two sisters, Mildred Fortney, of Mechanicsburg, and Edith Yocum, of Reedsville; and one granddaughter, Wendy Tillema.
George was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob and Joseph Kling.
George retired from maintenance at the Mifflin County School District in 1985 after 32 years. He Attended Grove Memorial Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St, Lewistown, with the Rev. Teresa Fink officiating. Interment will be in the Lind Memorial Cemetery, with a graveside military service by VFW Post #7011. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, at the funeral home.
