DANVILLE - Joyce L. Folk, 85, of McClure, died at 1:46 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on Dec. 8, 1928, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. Jr. and Lena D. (Smith) Curry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, John H. Folk, in February 1984; a son, Larry Joe; two brothers, John and Joseph Curry; and an infant sister.
Joyce is survived by: her children, Elizabeth "Jane" R. Hoffman, of McClure, Cynthia L. Wray, of New Berlin, and Lisha P. Zeigler and husband, Wayne, of McClure; four grandchildren, Craig Hoffman, Corey Hoffman, Jeremy Wray and Kiley Aucker; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Curry and wife, Lu, Leo R. Curry and wife, Joan, both of Lewistown, and Freida G. Adams and husband, Buck, of Malabar, Fla.
Joyce was a 1946 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She was a foster grandmother at West Snyder Elementary and retired from Beaver Shoe, Beaver Springs, in 1990. She was a member of McClure First United Methodist Church.
Joyce loved spending time with her family, working with kids and being involved at church.
A memorial service will be held for Joyce at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at McClure First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kathy Mercado officiating.
