To the editor:
In regard to all of the opinions on the Lewistown fire departments: I am a volunteer firefighter and EMS provider in the borough. We are a team, a family. There is never a call in this borough where we are anything but one solid team.
I don't think a lot of people see the unity or compassion that each and every station has for one another in any time of need. If one of us is hurt, when a family member passes, or a child is sick, or even in times of financial troubles, there isn't a station in this county that won't reach out a hand to help any of us.
Each station may have their own rules and traditions, but when the tones go off each and every one of us takes a risk to help complete strangers in any situation. I trust my life in the hands of all of my fellow firefighters, EMT's and paramedics in Lewistown Borough, to know that each and every one of us will go home to our families safely on every call.
To the people who have opinions about the Lewistown fire departments: Would you trust your life to them, 'cause I do it everyday to try and save you.
