LEWISTOWN - Mifflin County Regional Police said an accident involving a tractor trailer shut down U.S. 322 for three hours on Sunday, according to a report from police.
Police said Wendarron Searcy, of Milwaukee, Wisc., was driving a tractor-trailer east on US 322, in the area of the Double Bridges, when he lost control of the vehicle. According to the report, the truck hit the median guide rails and continued traveling east, damaging about 400 feet of guide rails. Police said Searcy was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed, and no injuries were reported.
MCRPD was assisted on scene by Reedsville and Yeagertown Fire Companies, Derry Township Fire Police, Fame EMS, PennDot, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for the removal and clean up of the spilled diesel fuel.
