MIFFLINTOWN - Carole L. Seiber, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence in Mifflintown.
Carole was born Dec. 3, 1934, to Irma (Fike) Stuck and Lawrence Stuck, of Granville. Her husband Raymond, whom she married on March 19, 1957, preceded her in death in 1985.
Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Stuck Jr. and Charles "Bud" Stuck.
Carole is survived by: children, Jeffrey Seiber and wife, Kelli, and Linda (Seiber) Hummel and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Tyler Seiber and wife, Allison, Lindsey (Hummel) Martin and husband, Amos, Kristen (Hummel) Gentzel and husband, Mike, Kelsi Hummel and Jonathan Hummel; and one great-grandson, Abram Gentzel, born Oct. 30, 2013.
Carole graduated from Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, and continued her education at Bloomsburg University, receiving a bachelor of science in education. Carole was employed at MH/MR and Lewistown Hospital. She retired in 1999 as state development director at Locust Grove Retirement Village and corporate compliance officer for Tressler. Carole served on the Area Agency on Aging board for many years and was also on the Lewistown Hospital Foundation board.
Carole was an avid reader and enjoyed time with family and friends. She loved antiquing and searching for bargains. Carole will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother, always lending an ear and offering advice.
Carole requested no formal service but the family will have a memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juniata County Library, in Mifflintown.
