HARRISBURG - Mary L. Roadcap, 71, of Harrisburg, passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Pinnacle Health, Community Campus.
Mrs. Roadcap was born in Lewistown, and was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Parker. She was a graduate of Lewistown Area High School and Thompson Institute. She retired in 1997 from the Department of Revenue after 37 1/2 years of service. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and American Legion Posts 1001 and 998.
Mary greatly enjoyed the Hershey Theater, shopping, and almost daily trips to the Cracker Barrel. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids, who loved spending time with her.
Mrs. Roadcap is survived by her husband, Jack, with whom she celebrated 41 years of marriage on, Nov. 25, 2013; twin sons, Sean (Sara) Roadcap and Shane (Amber) Roadcap, both of Harrisburg; one step-daughter, Vicki (Kirk) Landenslager, of Halifax; one step-son, Todd (Jamie) Reisinger, of Millerstown; four grandchildren, Allison, Sean, Jr., RJ, Katelyn and an expected grandchild in June; four step-grandchildren, Alexa, Noah, Neal, and Dominic; two sisters, Shirley (Duane) Rider, of Reedsville, and Betty Lou Royer, of Lewistown; two brothers, Melvin (Kay) Parker, Jr. and Frank Parker, both of Lewistown; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg. The Rev. Edward J. Quinlan will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Cemetery, Halifax.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 9, at the church, prior to the Mass.
