McALISTERVILLE - Lawrence E. Feltman, 74, of McAlisterville, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 20, 1939, in Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Simon and Grace (Strawser) Feltman. On July 14, 1963, he married his surviving wife, Nancy J. (Davis) Feltman, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three sons, Michael A. Feltman and his wife, Pamela, of Thompsontown, Mark E. Feltman, of McAlisterville and his companion, Joey Amey, of Thompsontown, and Thomas C. Feltman and his wife, Amy, of McAlisterville; two brothers, Glenn Feltman and his wife, Mary Jane, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and David Feltman, of Richfield; six grandchildren, Lauren Smith and her husband, Andrew, and Brody, Dylan, Tyler, Paris and Cypress Feltman; four great-grandchildren, Rowan, Andrew, Wrett and Haven Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Arlene Feltman.
Mr. Feltman graduated from East Juniata High School in 1958, and spent 20 years serving as the Sexton at the Brown's United Methodist Church, Cocolamus, where he was also a past choir member and trustee.
In earlier life, he was employed by the Eileen Hope Dress Factory, Liverpool. Then he spent the next 32 years as a Construction Inspector for PennDOT until retiring in 1995. After two years of retirement, Lawrence went back to work as a Consultant for Irvin Engineering until retiring again in 2004.
Lawrence was a devoted husband. He coached Little League baseball in the early 1970s and was an avid race fan and loyal Penn State football fan. He found his greatest joy in attending the athletic and go-kart racing events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, from the Brown's United Methodist Church, Cocolamus, with the Rev. Candace Arnold officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the church.
