Captain David Means, right, of the Salvation Army Lewistown Corps stands with Burnham Lions Club president, Ned Kauffman, center, and member Hal Kester as they ring bells Saturday during the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle kick-off outside K-Mart in Burnham. The kettle drive begins today outside K-Mart, Ollie’s and JC Penney, and on Black Friday at Walmart. The drive continues until Christmas Eve, excluding Sundays. Proceeds from the drive go to the purchase of food and toys for needy families in Mifflin County. Any funds left over at beginning of the new year go to the Salvation Army’s primary focus assistance programs, which provide food and clothing throughout the year.
