Domestic case causes delay in East Derry dismissal

October 15, 2013
Lewistown Sentinel

Students at East Derry Elementary School were kept for a time after school Tuesday afternoon while State Police Lewistown investigated a domestic violence case in the area not far from the school. As police were about to make an arrest, the suspect ran. Lewistown Police Chief William Herkert said that caused the delay in dismissing students from East Derry. Police soon caught the suspect, and students were then allowed to go home, Herkert said.
