McVEYTOWN - One person is dead after a car went into a creek along U.S. 522 near South River Road, in Oliver Township at about 9:15 p.m. Friday, according to Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.
Trooper Bennet said the car, driven by 23-year-old Austin Kauffman, was traveling on 522 toward Lewistown, when for unknown reasons it left the road. The car then hit a guardrail, traveled through the air and hit the embankment on the opposite side of the creek.
Bennet said the driver was taken to Lewistown Hospital via McVeytown EMS where he was pronounced dead.

This car flipped over in Oliver Township while headed for Lewistown on U.S. 522 at about 9:15 p.m. Friday evening.
State Police were assisted by Big Valley EMS, Milroy Fire Company, McVeytown EMS, FAME EMS and Mount Union Fire Company.
