LEWISTOWN - After a lopsided opening set, Mifflin County showed a little spunk against State College, but not enough to handle the Little Lions in a Commonwealth Division volleyball match Monday.
State College won in straight sets, 25-4, 25-17, 25-16.
For the Huskies, Kaitlyn Dreese had seven service points including three aces to go with seven assists, while Jessica Dzupova had five service points. Bryn Ferguson, Anna Aurand and Jenna Snyder each had two kills; Snyder and Ferguson each had a block.
"My girls did a nice job against State High. I was impressed," Mifflin County coach Jill Zeger said.
State College also won the JV game, 2-0 (25-11, 25-19).
Mifflin County travels to Carlisle today.
Lewisburg 2, Midd-West 0
MIDDLEBURG - Midd-West gave up a pair of second-half goals Monday and was unable to score any of its own as Lewisburg won their Heartland Conference boys soccer game, 2-0.
The Mustangs (9-5, 7-4) host Milton Wednesday.

Belleville Mennonite 0
BELLEVILLE - Forbes Road, a field hockey state playoff team a year ago, hung another shutout on Belleville Mennonite Monday by the same 9-0 score as the previous meeting between the two.
The Thunder got just one shot on goal and failed to draw a single corner in the game. Mollie Morgan stopped 20 shots.
Belleville Mennonite (3-8) travels to Huntingdon today.
East Juniata 1
COCOLAMUS - Kasi Horning scored East Juniata's only goal - the lone tally of the first half - but the Tigers saw Selinsgrove score twice in the second to win the non-league girls soccer match, 2-1.
East Juniata (8-6) travels to Lancaster Country Day Wednesday.
Greenwood's home boys soccer game against Halifax will be played Wednesday. Midd-West's field hockey game at Newport was postponed, but no new date was set.
