LEWISTOWN - James E. Fisher Sr., 84, of Reedsville, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Ohesson Manor.
Born on Nov. 27, 1928, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Walter L. and Helen (Pannebaker) Fisher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James E. Fisher Jr. and Charles E. Fisher, and one brother, Walter P. Fisher.
James is survived by: wife, Janet A. (Harnish) Fisher, whom he married on July 15, 1950; daughters, Karen S. Fisher, of Lewistown, Jan E. Writsel and husband, Larry, of Lancaster; son, Jason R. Fisher and wife, Heather, of Columbus, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Fisher, of Belleville; sister, Anna (Fisher) Long, of North Huntingdon; six grandchildren, Amy Freed, Jeremy Fisher, Kevin Fisher, James E. Fisher III, Alora R. Fisher and Zoe A. Fisher; and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was a 1947 graduate of Yeagertown High School.
James was a bartender at Lewistown Elks Club, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lewistown, a life member of the Yeagertown Fire Co. and Elks Club.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Gary Roth officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the church.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044, or to the charity of one's choice.
