To the editor:
On Aug. 16 Habitat for Humanity of Mifflin County - HFHMC - sponsored an event at Kish Park that involved many aspects of our community. HFHMC has two purposes - one is to build and sell houses to partner families who might otherwise not be able to buy a home of their own and two is to help local homeowners do exterior one day projects on their properties, knows as Brush With Kindness projects.
HFHMC is totally dependent on local donations of money and volunteer time. We are, of course affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International but we receive no financial support through them. We do, however, rely on their experience, information and advice.
Our Aug. 16 event was successful due to the help and support of local businesses, local clubs, volunteer help, and local entertainers.
As HFHMC makes plans to build and sell its seventh Habitat House in Mifflin County, the members would like to send sincere thanks to the following: Tractor Supply Inc., Auto Zone, Wallpaper Barn, Angelo's Hollow Inn, Scentsy, Pink Zebra, Abuse Network, Avenue Apparel, Allensville Planing Mill, Lewistown Florist, The Logan House, Honey Creek Bill & Beak, Brindel's Hardware, Burnham Hardware & Gifts, Dan Pierce Outdoor Shop,
