LEWISTOWN Dorothy M. Howell, 89, of McClure, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:57 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 18, 1924, in Belltown, she was the daughter of the late Elder J. and Willa (Ray) Will.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert J. "Snap" Howell on Jan. 21, 2005; an infant granddaughter, Sherry; and her sister, Miriam Page.
Dorothy is survived by: her children, Thresea Mae Weaver and husband, Keith, of Indiana, Albert John Howell and wife, Sharon, of McClure, Scott Douglas Howell and wife, Barbara, of Bendersville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Milly Kearns.
She was previously employed at the Arrow Shirt Factory and the McClure Garment Factory.
She was a member of the Lawver's United Methodist Church in McClure.
Dorothy enjoyed her vacations in Canada and collecting dolls. She was a volunteer for ball teams at the Belltown field and attended the Belltown Senior Community Center.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in Lawver's Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
