LEWISTOWN - Granville Township Police have issued an updated report regarding an accident that occurred at 5:30 p.m. Friday along Ferguson Valley Road.
According to the report, Wade Walters, of Burnham, was traveling east on a 2010 Honda motorcycle when a 4-wheeler operated by a 14-year-old male pulled out from a private driveway into his path, in what was an apparent attempt to cross the roadway.
Police said that the two vehicles then collided, which caused Walters to be thrown about 25 feet from the motorcycle onto the east bound side of the road. The 4-wheeler then struck the front of a 2005 GMC pickup truck which was also traveling east, operated by Bobbi Jo Gearhart, of Huntingdon, according to the report. Police said the 4-wheeler became lodged in the front of the truck, while the 14-year-old became lodged underneath the truck.
According to the report, Walters and the 14-year-old male were both flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. As of Monday evening, a nursing supervisor said Walters had been released from the medical center. Police have not released the identity of the 14-year-old male, thus his condition update was not available.
Granville Township Police were assisted at the scene by Mifflin County Regional Police, Fame EMS, West Granville Fire Department, Granville Township Fire Police and Junction Fire Company.
